Cordelia had a rough start in life. From a very early age, she had to endure depression, anxiety, attempted rape, discord between her parents, and having to relocate because of the consequences of black magic. Such occurrences in her life made her stronger, but also made her vulnerable to demonic possession. Very early in life, when all of this was happening to her, Cordelia realized that this was something that she would have to fight by herself and so she did exactly that. When her life became too difficult, she went to get help and had a Kundalini experience that seemed to awaken her mind to the spiritual world. After that, she had a new goal in her life other than surviving: becoming a healer. But before she could become a healer, she had to literally fight her demons and find people she could trust. I thought this book would be very dark and gritty and, to an extent, it actually is, but the author brings light into her life and discusses the hardships she had to suffer in a tone that soothes the reader. I sympathized with her, but never pitied her because you can feel her strength through her words. Her resilience and her support system were portrayed and conveyed to the reader very well. What I really enjoyed reading is how she narrated everything with a light tone to ease the mind of the reader. I never once felt rushed or scared or anxious, even when Cordelia Lee was talking about pretty intense occurrences in her life (which I think is no small feat). About the Author
Cordelia Lee lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with her husband and their son. After overcoming depression and anorexia in her teens, Cordelia experienced a spontaneous kundalini awakening in her thirties. Although she had no prior training, she found herself able to perform vocal sound healing, which she has used to help others handle stress and heal Together with her husband Ket, they are meditation teachers. Their practice is nonreligious and not mainstream. The most important aspect of their work is to help and empower people to heal, especially those who have gone through ordeals like hers. Their work has taken them around Asia and Australia as they lead meditation sessions, retreats and workshops. Cordelia is a firm believer in second chances and their availability to anyone who seeks them.

Do not be frightened by the title of the book. Despite the dark subject matter of demonic possession, the book is really about Light. Like the title says “from darkness to Lightâ€. Yes, some details of the demonic possession and the author's encounters with the supernatural can be unnerving to most people. But the main purpose of the book is not so much to spook people. Like the "subtitle" on the cover says, this is "a true story of triumph against all odds". And it does seem that way.The book starts off with a bang with Cordelia's experience of her first exorcism. Then it flashes back to talk about her life from childhood in Malaysia. She tells of the "thunderstorms" she faced as a child - of which I'll mention 2 molests, fighting parents, trauma of having to relocate to another city due to black magic cast on her father, threat of eviction from home due to inability of her parents to pay rent, which resulted in her having depression and anorexia as a young child. Oh yeah, there's a chapter on how she fought off a rape attempt later in her 20s too.Most importantly, she writes of how she overcame all these BY HERSELF. That is pretty impressive I must say. And she links up how her tough childhood prepared her for the biggest Trial of her life - Demonic Possession & Black Magic happening at the same time.Oh, before that, she went through a spontaneous Kundalini awakening which seemed to give her abilities to perceive the spiritual realm. Before long, she began to have spooky experiences which of course culminated in demonic possession.It disturbed me to find out who was responsible for the black magic cast on Cordelia and how it was done. Really an eye-opener about black magic.The juiciest and most amazing bit is how Cordelia was ultimately saved. Without writing a spoiler, it's a story that I must say is almost too good to be true. I feel so uplifted and relieved with the revelations Cordelia made in this book. I would even venture to say that whereas I used to feel that the future is bleak for our world and humanity, Cordelia’s revelations, while controversial, has made me feel hopeful.Thereafter, Cordelia shares how she further healed herself from the trauma of the demonic possession and ended up becoming a healer and teacher herself.Last but not least, Cordelia shared a lot of the insights she has received through meditation. It is, very simple yet so ... wise and of truth. And as someone who meditates myself, I find what she shared about the Stages of Meditation to be very interesting.I don't think there'll be another who will live through such experiences and publish a book on it.A MUST READ for those who are interested in the paranormal, supernatural, spirituality and true stories of how people overcome seemingly overwhelming odds in life. Highly recommended for those who aren't. This book will surprise you.
